Medication & IRFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netWed, 8 Aug 2001 08:55:29 -0500 (CDT)
I wanted to start out by saying thanks to all that post here as it is really a place where I can come and get the answers that I need. I was diagnosed with PCOS in June and started on glucophage last week. The doctor has me on 500 mg 2 times a day. My question may be a dumb one but I have to ask! If the medication like glucophage makes your body use the insulin it produces correctly why the need to do the low carb diet also? I have been trying the low carb but there are days that I get these cravings that I can't control. Another question, does anyone have to check their blood sugar levels with PCOS on a consistent basis? Sorry for rambling but any insight or help would be appreciated. Magster
