Hi, everyone. I was just diagnosed with PCOS in the last few weeks and it's been crushing, to say the least. Most of all, it's been hard for me to deal with the fact that I may not be able to have babies when I want to start a family. Reading your stories and advice has been very helpful to me. My doctor just prescribed 500mg of Glucophage 2x a day this week, and I was planning to start taking it--except that I am leaving on a two week vacation (camping, nonetheless!)tomorrow morning and I am considerably worried about possible side effects. As you can imagine, nausea and other side effects would pretty much make my camping trip miserable. Has anyone been on glucophage and *not* experienced headaches, tummy aches, diarrhea, etc?? I have a feeling my doctor won't be too happy when I go in in 3 weeks and tell him I didn't start the medication until the 12th, but honestly,.. it's not a life threatening condition and I will not let this medication ruin my trip. Thanks again for your input!
