Re: PCOS-MEDICATION digest 525From: Sue (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 31 Jul 2001 09:31:41 -0500 (CDT)
>Who knows maybe breastmilk will help my child to not be insulin sensitive!< Sandra-- I know this is a very personal decision that only you can make, but if breastmilk kept people from having insulin problems, then I shouldn't have PCO, either. I was nursed for quite a long time--probably until 10 or 11 mos. old. More than anything, just be aware that having a mom who is ill and unable to tend to her own medical issues doesn't do your baby much good--my OB has always said that a child whose mother is healthy (and maybe doing less for the child) is better off than one whose mother is ill but isn't treating herself due to her child. I hope that makes sense.... Anyhow, best of luck to you.
