Re: Progesterone, Dr. Sam please

Wow. Two things... well, ok, three.

1. FYI, Dr. Sam. I guess my experience is also "interesting"! I've been taking 25 mg progesterone suppositories twice a day since day 23 of this cycle. LIKE MURIEL, I FEEL GREAT! Wonder why? I usually feel like I'm in a dead stupor by the last week of my cycle.

2. My doc gave me progesterone "to take until we're sure you haven't conceived..." Does it work to help you get your period AND to help you stay pregnant?! Last month my pregnancy test was negative but my period wouldn't start, so he took me OFF progesterone saying "it could be keeping you from getting your period". Are we talking about two different things here?

3. If we're talking about the same thing, I would LOVE to do pills or cream. These suppositories 2x a day are an awful nuisance! I can't wait to talk to my doc about it...

The basic explanation for its mood effects is, that there are progesterone receptors in the brain and they may influence your mood. My question is, what preparation and what dosage have you taken? You said that you had regular periods before, but were you ovulating?
