Hi Christi, If your at Stanford I think you should definately see Dr. Cataldo!!!I cant stress this enough! He is wonderful and he will give you ALL the information you could ever want or need. Dr Cataldo is in the REI clinic and is doing a Research study so he is extremely knowledgeable about PCOS! they are still looking for more subjects and all the testing and medication will be free if you are chosen to participate which if your a sudent I know can be a great help! He will ask you alot of questions and will answere alot of question too...plan on being there for about 3 hours your fist visit...he likes to talk! Then he will send you for blood work across the hall to start checking your hormones. He is very considerate and will call you as soon as he gets the test results plan on being on the phone for a while!I really like this Doctor and I think he can help you. You most Certainly DO need follow up care with PCOS!Did they talk to you about taking insulin sensitizers? did they check your insulin levels? did they check your hormone levels?Provera is just a quick fix to jump start your period but by no means does it treat your PCOS.Dr cataldo will see you even if you are NOT trying to get pregnat...and yes an RE is probably your best choice for PCOS...although some may dissagree with me. Hope I helped. I can email you his phone number if you like. Dona
