Chriss: I did my cycles with clomid the first five days, then went to the injectible meds. My doc did it that way because the clomid was less expensive. He told me that I was resistant to clomid, but it would start my follicules growing and the injectible meds would help them continue to grow to the correct size. If I remember correctly, we also did this because people with PCOS are more likely to develop ovarian hyperstimulation with the injectible meds than with clomid. I conceived two children using this method. When we used just clomid, my eggs never grew to the appropriate size to ovulate. I did develop hyperstimulation with my second child, but the amount of injectible medicine used each day of my cycle was doubled because I was not responding. My RE also felt that this problem developed because I was pregnant with twins. Unfortunately one the twins was what is called a vanishing twin. One of them stops growing. Good luck. Using the clomid will keep your costs down a little if your insurance doesn't cover the procedures. Good luck. I have a two year old and four year old son. I think they are both miracle babies. I had to take Provera to have a period, then the clomid and FSH, then HCG to stimulate ovulation when my eggs were the correct size, then Progesterone suppositories during the first trimester. You can email me if I can help in any way. It's been a while since I went through the process, but I'll try and help. wayneangiewilson@aol.com Angela
