Also......about hair loss..From: Tyrany (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 21 Jul 2001 12:14:58 -0500 (CDT)
I was tested for Lupus. Lupus can cause dramatic hair loss. There are three types of Lupus. I tested positive through an ANA test. But when they did a more "sensitive test," I tested negative. Lupus is an "Auto Immune Disease." I would advise anyone with "dramatic shedding of hair," to go to your Dermatoligist if possible, and get a correct diagnosis..it will put your mind at ease knowing what the culprit is. "Telogen Effluvium," is dramatic shedding of hair..and it "no doubt" is what we all have...including "Androgenic Alopecia." Telogen Effluvium..must run it's course..and usually stops after six months. Some people lose up to 90% of their hair..but it does grow back. Causes include.."Stress, Hormone Changes, Birth of a child, Dramatic Weight Loss, Discontinuing Birth Control Bills..or Starting birth Control Pill..Malnutrition etc. I hope this helps you all some.. If you have any questions..please ask me... Good luck. Sincerely, Tyrany...
