It is not an "old wives tale" that spironolactone is not harmful to a male fetus when taken during pregnancy. I'm glad you have had no problems with your pregnancy. Unfortunately I did have a problem when I accidentally got pregnant while taking spironolactone. A person should not be taking spironolactone if they are trying to conceive.
