New to the message board, Have PCOS, searching for info on D-Chiro-Inositol & miscarriageFrom: Christa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 13 Jul 2001 16:48:41 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I am 25 years old, have PCOS and have been struggling with infertility for 3 years. We had a miscarriage last year that totally devastated us and now are trying some new treatment. My doctor for 2 years knew nothing about the connection between PCOS and insulin resistance, but I am now with a new doctor and am on Metformin and Clomid. I have heard a lot about a new thing called D-Chiro-Inositol and am looking for any information anyone may have on that. Apparently you can get it naturally through food, but the actual medication that the drug company is trying to get approved has shown to induce normal ovulation in more than 85% of the women doing the studies. Does anyone know anything about that, or where I can sign up to get invovled in a group study? Also looking for information that you may have on the link between PCOS and miscarriage. My doctor says there is none, frankly I don't buy it. Why would your insulin levels suddenly be ok once you're pregnant. Anyone who could respond to this would be much appreciated. thanks!
