PCOS & Glucose IntoleranceFrom: Alene (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Jul 2001 19:43:52 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I have been reading through all of these stories & am unable to believe that this is exactly what I am going through. I assumed I was the only one that was having to deal with something of this nature. I had been thin my whole life up unitl chicken pox (age 24) and have since become Hypothyroid, Glucose Intolerant & I also have PCOS. Why is it so hard for us to lose weight..? It makes no sense at all. I don't eat exessivley and I feel lousy, because my husband looks at me like it's my choice to be overweight. When in fact, I feel like it is absolutely out of my power. I have been on Glucophage for two years (now taking the XR version), thyroid medicine for more than five years & have trying to conceive through Clomid for the past 8 months. I'm not sure why nothing is working. Does it take time or just the proper calculations of everything? I do know that on the Gluc, my levels have pretty much all returned to normal - but I still have the weight problem. Does anyone have any advise..? Thanks, Alene
