Re: is it true that PCOS persons can not loose weight? From: Shelly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 10 Jul 2001 12:19:17 -0500 (CDT)
I'd suggest reading two books: Carbohydrate Addicts Diet and Protein Power. Get them from the library if you don't want to buy them. If you have a good Dr (oxymoron)who will give you IR meds great. If not, try taking Chromium Pic. to increase insulin utilization, l-carnitine to help the mitochondria to burn fat and give you energy, CLA and Alpha Lipoic acid help, too. A multi vit. targeted to stress (extra B's) is a must as is exercise. Wouldn't it be great if we all worked out at the gym 6 days a week but reaslisticaly best I can count on is taking the stairs at work several times a day. Different things work for different people, you have to experiment and find out what works for you. Vasnesa, your Dr said you'd better get used to being fat?!?!?! Were he my Dr he had better get used to singing soprano 'cause I can KICK pretty darn high when I'm wearing a little paper dress! good luck
