I think that your development of it after a tubal ligation is a coincidence, and that the book was wrong. What were the credentials of the author, and did they have any supporting evidence cited.

Women with PCOS often have the opposite problem than you do. They have difficulty getting pregnant. I suspect many women around here have never had their tubes tied, and their symptoms may have started in adolescence.
