Hi Sandy,
Before answering your questions, I would like to have some answers to mine ones.
Why are you taking metformin? What do you stive for to achieve with met? What is your age and symptoms?
As for the dosage of metformin: if you tolerated 1000 mg/day why have you increased the dose so quickly? Some people are on 500 mg for the first month, then have a check-up before increasing it.
