Hi Paula,

It is OK to start at 500 mg/day and increase to 2x-3x that dose or 2x850 mg. Tiredness is common on the first days of metformin and is most probably caused by hypoglycemia. I would refrain from clomid for at least 6 mo, because you would most probably ovulate on metformin alone. For your info
