Dr. Sam and anyone interested,

I have a few questions, please bear with me.

First- Is it a normal side effect to be so sick that you vomit while taking Glucophage? I am on 2,000 mg.(taken in 2 doses). The first week I was Rx 1,000 mg. once a day and starting the 2nd week to move up to 2 doses. The first week I had mild nausea and a lot of diarrhea the 2nd thru 5th day- then the symptoms lessened a lot- till dissappearing. But when I started the increase this week, the nausea comes in waves resulting in vomiting the past 2 days. I was warned that this med. could be hard to get used to, but is the vomiting anything to be concerned about? or is it par for the course?

Second- My cholestrol is elevated, and my dr. says the gulcophage will help correct this problem. What do you think?

Third- My hemoglobin has always been high. From 15.5 to 17. Does this have any significance? I didn't think so, but my dr. suggests a visit to a hemotologist. If it is important, I will go, but if not - I don't want to go to any more dr.s than is necessary.

Fourth- My 12yr old daughter is showing signs of PCOS and I have an appointment with a pediatric endo. I am worried about what exams or tests she might have to have. She is (as all young girls are) very upset at the mention of having to go. It would put us all a little more at ease if we knew what test are necessary for her. Specifically an exam that would need her to completly undress or that would be invasive. Please reply.

I am on a lot of meds. Does this sound within reason? Synthroid .15mg.daily(for hypothroidism) Spironlactone 100mg.2x daily. Ortho-cyclen28 and Glucophage 1,000mg. 2x daily (for PCOS) I really like my dr. and trust him, I just wanted to gauge my meds. with other PCOS patients.

Dr. Sam PLEASE RESPONG, and I would welcome comments from anyone who has simular issues?
