Hi Renee, Avandia (like Metformin (Glucophage) and Actos) are insulin sensitizers. They help our insulin to work correctly. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. It's ALWAYS talked about on these boards; not as much as Met, but it is always a discussion. Sometimes searching the posts can give you some more insight on things you weren't familiar with. That's how we all get so much info. Hope this helps.
