Hi Kari, I've actually seen a DECREASE in my edema and water retention since being on Avandia. My ankles would be so swollen that they'd turn blue and would hurt so bad that I couldn't even walk. I recently was thinking about this and that's when I noticed--hey, you haven't had that since taking Avandia! :) As for heart palpitations--I wouldn't even know what to look for. I was on Met in January for nearly 2 months and it is said that Met will cause you to ovulate. I am not sure if it made ME ovulate or not since my ovary pain has always been constant. The Met did make me so sick with nausea and diarrhea that I ended up in the ER and had to stop it. That's why I was eventually put on Avandia instead, after giving my body a break from the Met and it's adverse effects. I hope this info helps some.
