Uh oh, did I get the WRONG shot? Dr. Sam?From: Zowie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 29 Jun 2001 14:54:24 -0500 (CDT)
Hello. As many of you may know, I am on the Lurpon Depot shot to chemically induce a menopausal state of hormones because my PCOS is so severe and my periods are horrendous. I got my 2nd 3 month shot today and noticed that the pkg. says "Lupron Depot-Ped" and is 11.25 mg. Ok, my first shot was simply "Lupron Depot" but the same dose. I asked the nurse about this, and she said it's the same, but maybe a different dose, although the dose IS the same. She gave me the shot anyhow, but I'm nervous now because as I'm reading the pamphlet that came with this shot (which I wasn't allowed to read until AFTER having it administered), repeatedly says "child" or "pediactric" and says that this shot is "indicated in the treatment of children with central precocious puberty." WHAT??!! This is NOT what my last shot information said at all and this is making me quite nervous. Is that what the "peds" stands for??--Pediatrics? Please tell me they didn't just give me a shot for CHILDREN! Dr. Sam, if you or anyone has any information about this, please let me know. I'm worried sick about this! Thanks! --Zowie, just a little worried right now! <:/
