Re: Yet another question about insulin sensitizers - Dr. Sam

Ok, now I'm really confused. And first, I want to apologize if I'm giving wrong information. I was recently told by my PCM directly that "Insulin sensitizers lower blood sugar". This is why she told me to eat something with my night pill, because I've been waking up in the middle of the night feeling shaky and "anxious". She already knows that I am hypoglycemic and anemic and was sure that the Avandia was causing this because of the time of these symptoms. So far, Dr. Sam and Sue have both said that this medication does NOT lower blood sugar. I'm confused--what is correct? If Avandia does NOT lower the sugar levels, than what is my Doc thinking? And what is the explanation of what's happening with me at night? I don't get hot flashes or night sweats, I just wake up feeling shaky but I'm not PHYSICALLY shaking, and often am disoriented (which I've been getting a LOT lately). So if this isn't from the Avandia, what's it from? I just want to understand the full truth here. I can't see why one Dr. would say that Avandia DOES lower blood sugar, while another Dr. says it DOES. See my confusion?? Please help me clarify this!! Thanks! --Zowie :)
