Hi Claire and Susan,

Although there are several treatments for PCOS, prednisone seems somewhat antiquated by the standards I consider up to date. It goes back to the time when the only thing we knew for sure was androgen excess and when no potent antiandrogens were available. This is only one of the problems with prednisone, the other ones are: it elevates blood pressure and is definitely diabetogen. There is even a Dx steroid diabetes for the condition caused by prednisone and relatives. So I would strongly second guess about prednisone treatment of PCOS.
