Yet another question about insulin sensitizers - Dr. Sam

I have now seen my reaction to Metformin and also someone else on this list's reaction to Metformin (or it may have been Avandia) explained as "hypoglycemia". Yet everything I've read on this list and elsewhere says that the reason Metformin and Avandia are so safe is that they affect the insulin without lowering blood sugar. If they do not lower the blood sugar, then why would reactions to them be explained as hypoglycemia? I know exactly what hypoglycemia feels like, and what happened to me when I took Metformin was NOT the same thing. I'm just confused (again).
