Re: muscle soreness in legs -- off Glucophage -- insulin levels normal...

About your leg pain...This probably isn't your situation, but I thought I'd write about it all the same (its not related to PCOS as far as I know).  If anyone ever has pain or cramping in their legs (especially their calves) DON'T rub it or massage it or anything.  I had a horrible cramp in my calf that went on for a couple days, and I rubbed it thinking I had pulled something at aerobics class, but it turned out to be blood clots (they did an ultrasound on my legs and found lots of lovely clots) that then migrated up to my lungs (potentially fatal).  All the nurses at the hospital emphasized that no one should EVER rub/massage their legs because it might be a blood clot.  I don't know what sports therapists or massage therapists say about this, but I just know that I'll never do it again.  If you're concerned about deep vein thrombosis in your legs (blood clots), walk around a lot (at least a few minutes for every hour you spend sitting), avoid eating lots of vitamin K (dark green veggies, oils, soy), take an aspirin (thins the blood), and of course, see your doctor!  Since lots of us take BCPs for PCOS, we should all be aware that they up the risk of having blood clots in the legs or lungs dramatically.  I didn't know this while I was taking ortho-tricyclen, and it could have killed me.  Just FYI!

Much love
