Yasmine and interactions with meds.From: faye (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 2 Jun 2001 18:48:44 -0500 (CDT)
I am waiting for the release of the new BCP Yasmin for treatment of my PCOS symptoms. I am not trying to concieve and my IR is controled by diet. After reading the press releases and drug information at http://www.yasmin.com I cant really understand what exactly is not to be combined with Yasmin. I have been taking Anaprox 550mg every 8 hours for pain as needed, usually before and during the time I would cycle. appx. 4 days out of a month. I also take Vioxx 25mg. one each day for swelling in my fingers. I use one OTC plain aspirin daily with my B.p. med. Should the use of asprin and NSAIDS be reduced while on Yasmin? Is there another pain medication that could be used? Potasiam is also mentioned and excess should be avoided, would that include the foods that contain high amounts of potasium such as o.J or banannas? or just supplements? Due to the new release of Yasmin in the US pharmacist can only tell me what I can read on the web site. Any information will be very helpfull. My other maintance medications are: Accupril Norvasc Pravachol Wellbutrin Zoloft
-- Thanks Faye
