Do you understand that the cause of the acne is PCOS? I have the acne because I have high levels of androgens in my body. No normal treatment for acne will help me as they don't address the androgen excess. If I didn't have PCOS, regular treatments would yeild results. The Diane 35 (BCP) is addressing the androgen problem as it contains an anti-androgen (cyproterone acetate). Some people take some other anti-androgen like spironolactone to suppress the androgens while also taking the glucophage (or other insulin sensitizing medication). I don't really understand your comment about agreeing with BCP for certain things but not others. I'm taking this BCP specifically for PCOS.
