Re: Possible PCOS - Questions

I am NOT a doctor, but my advice, is to get more testing done before you get a biopsy. The PP doc is under the impression that PCOS means cysts. That is not true. I have NEVER had a biosy because I don't have cysts. This has been shown thru other testing and a sonargram.

There is no cure for PCOS. If left untreated you could be in for some very bad dangers down the road(heart disease/attacks, strokes, diabetes type 2, cancer, etc). No guarentees on anything with PCOS.

I am 28 and was dx at age 12. SO I know how hard this is going to be, not fun but necessary. I have been on meds off and on and left unresponsive. I refuse to take BCP because they only mask PCOS and are only good for the menstraul/hormone aspect instead of attacking the cause of PCOS. BCP's are good temporarily like a few months in my opinion. Again, I am not a doctor just well adversed in PCOS.

No 2 people with PCOS are alike. Make sure you make your own feeligns known to the doctor and dont take any bullying. Research, read, listen and learn about PCOS in order to be able to handle yourself aroudn the doctors. I have found myself educating the doctors sometimes. YOU are in control of your OWN health. Its also important to get more then 1 opinoin too. Arm your fam doctor and any other doctor witht he same information and make sure they talk to each other about your case to get the best optimum results.

Blessings
