Possible PCOS - QuestionsFrom: Jess (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 24 May 2001 14:51:07 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I am a 22 y/o female. I haven't had a period in over 6 months, and I finally went to the docs about it, and she said I MAY have PCOS, based on the systoms. She suggested that I get a biopsy on the ovaries to make sure. At the time of the visit, my blood pressure was high (nerves and asthma medication) and she didn't want to perscribe any birth control. She wanted to give me a 10 day supply of progestagin (SP??) to give me a period. I haven't been back to her (planned parenthood) but instead made a doc visit for a regular OBGYN. The visit is til June 12th, and I am curious as to how the biopsy is done, and if this diease ever goes away for good, or will I forever be on medications. I do plan on having kids with in the next 2-3 yrs and am wondering if I will be able to have them on my own, or need assistance with conception. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Please email me if you wish.
