It is such a comfort to be able to go somewhere and see that there are so many with the same issues and that it is not all in my head. I was diagnosed July 2000 with pcos/insulin resistence. After agonizing since I was 10, I now at age 34 know there is a name for what is wrong with me. I was able to find a very good ob/gyn and primary dr here in ptld or to recognize this condition. So many years and being told there is nothing wrong with you just lose weight..lol but the weight just kept piling on. My hair kept falling out and of course, kept growing on my face. I have been on glucopage since July gradually increasing, now up to 2200mgs a day. I have lost a little over 20 lbs. and my hair seems to be thickening up, hurray. BUT the pesky facial hair is still there. My cycles are not consistently regular, but at least I am having them more than before.
