Hi Dona and Susan C, The question of BCP's and PCOS keeps resurfacing like the lochness monster again and again. Please try to understand, all combined BCP's (mono- bi- or triphasic) contain estrogens which tend to aggravate the glucose metabolic disturbance we think to be the core problem with PCOS. The same thing happens during pregnancy (high estrogen levels) turning PCOSers into gestational diabetes and with time passing many of you get type2 diabetes mellitus. From this point on there is very little room for further discussion about BCPS and PCOS. The progestagen only types probably are less dangerous... To regulate your period, which is also an important point, you may need progestins or natural progesterone only for 10 days every month or longer. Sam
Dona.... gotta give my 2 cents on this one :-)) I think it's true that many
