Skin rashes with Spironolactone?From: debo (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 10 May 2001 15:12:50 -0500 (CDT)
Has anyone ever experienced bad skin reactions using spiro? I have been using the med without problem for about 3 yrs now and two months ago I started experiencing a red, hot bumpy rash on one hip and all along the inside of one thigh. I had no idea what was causing it but it kept spreading wider and wider. I finally stopped all my meds.(b.c.;Met. and Spiro.) That was 3 weeks ago, and the rash does fade with the use of Reactine but returns when I try to start my meds again. The last three days I have started them all except for the Spiro. and the rash seems to not be as red, or hot and doesn't itch as much. If I take even 50mg of Spiro. the rash starts to reappear much worse. Anyone know why this is happening? What can I do about it? I'm currently doing a liver detox and hope that will take of the problem. Any info, ideas and opinions are very welcome. Thanks in advance
