BREAKING NEWS: FATHER OF SYNDROME X TO SPEAK AT 2001 PCOSUPPORT CONFERENCE IN PHILADELPHIA, PA, JUNE 7-9

Gerald Reaven, MD, endocrinologist and father of Syndrome X (also known as insulin resistance syndrome) has been booked to speak at the 2001 PCOSupport Conference. Dr. Reaven, of Stanford University, was the first person to make a substantial connection between insulin resistance and heart disease, which he named Syndrome X.

Dr. Reaven has recently begun lending his considerable research expertise to the area of PCOS, which he feels is an important and long neglected area of study. He has partnered with PCOS expert Dr. Nicholas Cataldo, also of Stanford, on a new PCOS study using the medication Avandia. Dr. Reaven is the author of Syndrome X: Overcoming the Silent Killer That Can Give You a Heart Attack. For more information on speakers at the upcoming conference, please see the agenda below!

To register for the conference, go to the PCOSupport website at http://www.pcosupport.org and click through to the conference information and registration page. We're looking forward to seeing you in Philadelphia!
