Re: Glucophage/pcosFrom: Linda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Apr 2001 18:27:25 -0500
In my experience, the first two weeks are the worst on glucophage, but stick to it. I've had my period 3 times in the four months I've taken it. I really think it is great. I quit for a month because I got sick, and restarting it was harder because I tried to start at 1500mg a day. I'd work up to that and your gi problems might be fewer - like 500 mg/day for a week, then 1000 mg for a week, etc. Good luck!

The latest Dr. Put me on Glucophage 500mg 3x's daily also Wellbutrin because of my emotional state. I have been reading the side effects and now Im scared about starting this med tommorrow. Generally how long do these last and will any of the symptons with the PCOS go away like the periods, weight gain,etc.. I really need some help, this has been a long road for me like im sure it has for a lot other women. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it. Sincerely, Carol
