I am aware that BCP adversely affects IR and I'm asking HOW MUCH they adversely affect IR. I want to know if the Diane will be countering the effects of the Glucophage which is HELPING my IR and thereby helping my long term symptoms like hirsutism and acne. In other words, I'm trying to find out if taking both meds together is actually having a "cancelling out effect" therby it would be as if I'm taking nothing at all for the root of the problem (which is the IR). I'm glad to hear about the orthotricyclen. I wish I knew about that a long time ago. My endo had me on that for quite a while, also my dermatologist agreed. That because it was supposedly the pill to take for acne.(my main problem) It seems the doctors I've seen aren't too up on all the best meds for PCOS. My endo seems to be aware of the PCOS symptoms and everything but when I hear about things like that it bothers me. She's the one who has put me on the Gluco so she can't be all that bad. We'll see.
