Hi Donna! Prednisone is an adrenal corticosteroid believed to suppress the androgen overproduction by the adrenals. While my hair problem (facial&body) has never been severe, since being on the Pred, there is even less. While in Dr.Sam's post he didn't agree it was an effective treatment, I have to say I have been nothing but pleased with the results thus far. I just had my levels checked last week and my RE called this morning telling me all levels were within normal limits. If I've left anything out you wanted to know let me know. Christine
