I have a question about Pcos, and whether or not I should take Prednizone.From: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Apr 2001 20:18:32 -0500 (CDT)
I would like to know if any one else has ever been perscribed Prednizone as a hormone pill for Pcos. I have heard it is a steriod, My mother is also taking the pill. I only take 5mg a day before I go to bed. The doctor said I am to stay on them till I become pregnant. I was diagnosed in Sept of 1999 with Pcos. I have never gotton a period on my own and after going to several different doctors I found a Re who diagonsed me. I had Surgery on Jan.3 of this year to remove cysts from inside of my uterus I had several and they had misshaped my uterus. After the surgery I still did not get a period so I was back on Provera and Clomid.... On my last dr.'s appt. I had a progesterone level test done she said mine was a 0.1 and it was supposed to be a 15. That is why she chose to put me on the Prednizione, she said it would help balance my hormones since my ovaries were not functioning... Is this true? Is there a certain kind of pill I should ask her for to help me to ovulate?... I am so confused maybe I am not supposed to be taking Pednizone it does not say anything on the package about wanting to get pregnant but it does say it is used to treat arthritis and other things ...help.. I would like anyone's opinion... Thank you very much...
