Dear dr Sam, What BCP do you suggest then for a PCOSer that does not wish pregnancy.I am allergic to Latex so I can not use condoms or diaphram and I have never had a baby so my OBGYN does not recommend an IUD. This is a real problem for me because I know that I do ovulate on occaision.I can not get Diane in the US and do not want to take anything that I have to get out of the country. This is a real delemma. An honest and open minded answere would be appreciated. What do you suggest other than Diane. Is there a BCP that is simular to it in the US? I am already treating my PCOS with metformin. So the chances of pregnancy are higher now and I am not ready for a baby yet and I do not want tubal ligation or hysterectomy because someday I will want a baby. Annon

Diane is a partial exception, because of its antiandrogen effects, but this doesn't help with IR. Porgestogen only pills may be somewhat better, but still... they are only halting (in best case) the progress of the disease.
