Thanks for responding. What country are you in? I order the Diane over the internet and I live in the US. Please read my post titled Diane part 2. I was originally prescribed Glucophage (started with that about 8 months ago) and then a few months ago my endo also prescribed spironolactone (because of the anti-androgen effect). My skin has not improved and I heard about the Diane from my dermatologist (who I've been seeing forever and hasn't really been able to help me because of the hormone imbalance. He's a wonderful doctor but non of the conventional methods of treating acne have helped me.) He mentioned the Diane and then I got it from my mom in Europe (she lives there). The Diane is a BCP so I figured I was just substituting one BCP for another (I was on Orthotricyclen as a way of helping my skin) Dr. Sam is the one who mentioned I shouldn't be taking both the spiro and the Diane at the same time. I was and am still afraid to stop the spiro, however, because I know it takes your skin a long time to respond to any of these treatments and I was unsure that I would be able to take the Diane for a permanent time.(I thought I may have a bad reaction to it -- being a strong BCP) I'm afraid that my skin will never be normal. I don't know what to do anymore and now I hear people saying things about going off the Diane and their condition worsening. I'm freaking out because I don't want to get somewhat better only to get worse if I have to go off the Diane. See, if that's the case and I have to go off the Diane, at least I've still got the spiro in my system and hopefully it will be working for my skin. This has been going on for so long that I'm at my wits end. I never knew I had PCOS until a couple years ago (I'm 30 now). Now, after years of trying to help my skin with other treatments that had no lasting effect because no one knew I had PCOS. Sorry this is so long. I wanted to explain to you my reasoning.
