Hi Paula,

I think you have fared on metformin excellently. I see no point in increasing the dose, but if you are TTC, you should have a proper infertility workup: basal hormone values, tubal patency, husband. If everything is OK and there is no result within 6-12 mo, you could start some drugs stimulating your ovaries (i.e. producing more eggs in a cycle, which increases the chance of getting pregnant, but also the risk of twins). Second: testing your progesterone is a very tricky business as its level is bell shaped, thus if you miss the apex, you may end with seemingly low results. It is usual to supplement women conceiving after infertility with progesterone, the effects are dubious. It is more important to keep your glucose metabolism in balance during pregnancy too.
