Dr. Sam, Saw Palmetto is an herb(serona serrulata) it has been shown in studies in the U.S. to reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men. It also has a mild antiandrogen affect in woman it has been shown to decrease facial hair and increase hair growth on the head.My husband takes it for prostate health. The reason why no one answered your question before as to what Saw Palametto is? ...is because you had "Bashed" people on this board for discussing herbs and or taking them. You also forget that Diane 35 is not available in some countries and people have to try other means of medication. Do you suggest these woman get the drug illeagally and self medicate? I find more harm in that then taking a simple herb. annon.
