About Atkins and dieting

The Atkin's diet is really hard to follow. You can't even have fruits and vegetables. I understand that low carb is the way to go but what kind of carbs should I be cutting out? Is it necessary to remove fruits and vegetables too? I stay away from the simple carbs like pasta, bread, potatoes, etc. Is that good enough? I've tried Atkin's and it sounds good in theory but I like to have things that are forbidden on that diet. I prefer milk to cream for example. I like to have bananas when I feel dizzy, they always help me. Anyone who can answer, feel free. Thanks for your time.
