PCOS dxFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 21 Apr 2001 14:07:16 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I was diagnosed with PCOS after I had a tubal ligation reversal. All of my bloodwork came back normal except my FHS/LH ratio is 2.5/1 and my testosterone is elevated. Would Metformin be suggestable if my 3-hr glucose and insulin tolerance tests returned normal? We want to try to have another child in the future, but I need to have my PCOS under control first. I am overweight: 5-7" and 210lbs. I've been unable to lose any weight since my first child was born nearly 10 years ago. My 2nd child was conceived 4.5 yrs after my 1st child. I was diagnosed as having a 4.2 cm ovarian cyst, which had ruptured on its own 1 year ago this month. Normal cycles every 28 days. I've only been late twice other than being pregnant. One cycle was 36 days and the other cycle went to 51 days. Other than that, I have egg-white cervical mucous nearly every month. Have had positive ovulation kits. I'm still waiting for my OB/Gyn to suggest treatment. If I don't get any answers from him soon, then I will go to someone else who will help me. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions. God bless, Amy
