It took me a long time to get from 500mg to 1500mg due to the side effects. I also felt very weak due to the continuous diarrhea and not eating enough! The problem was completely solved when I was put on the new time-released glucophage called glucophage XR. Now, I take the whole 1500mg at dinner time and have NO side effects. Just the occasional rumble in my tummy from digestive goings on.(nothing terrible) Anyone interested in staying on the gluco but having severe side effects may want to ask their doctor about the gluco XR.
