Hi Cyrilla,

I have to disappoint you I am a male dr, my name is Samuel, buit I have been using it so since my medical studies. I am aware now that Samantha may be abbreviated as Sam too. For your question: I have pointed out in another letter that metformin doesn't induce weight loos in every patient unfortunately. Among my patients there are some who have lost 30 lbs, others none and I can't tell why. This could be another topic of research. But as PCOS is a metabolic disease (IR) it is advisable to lose weight, because your chances are better both for regular cycles and lower risk of diabetes, heart disease etc. Hope this helps

Sam
