Hi Melanie,

Getting your period doesn't necessarily mean you are ovulating. You also get periods while on BCP although your ovaries are completely suppressed. Provera: yes it has side effects, but a med that has no side effects doesn't have main effects either. Ernestly: Provera is the best progestin to be used for inducing a period (much better than taking BCPs).
