Re: Utovlan & PCOSFrom: =?iso-8859-2?q?Zalányi Sámuel?= (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Apr 2001 21:03:27 +0100 (MET DST)
Hi Lisa, Norethisterone (or Provera, or Prometrium) are only inducing bleeding and only in case you have enough estrogens produced by your ovaries (some PCOSers don't have enough of it). You should look for causative treatment. To have PCO or clinical signs of it is hair splitting. May be the doctor has its degree in law? PCOS as the name shows is a syndrome: a bunch of simptoms of which some have more, others have less. Before clomid you should have blood work (hormones) and probably look for insulin sensitizers. Hope this informs you Sam (Ob/Gyn, RE)
