My endrocrinologist put me on glucophage which didn;t work then put me on spironolactone to treat acne. My derm put me on accutane last year which didn;t work then put me on minocin(she wan;t familiar with spiro). I went to a new R.E./gyno this week and he wasn't familiar with treating PCOS acne with spiro either. He suggested I get a sonogram/ultrasound of ovary to check for possible tumor on ovary that might be causing my acne since the spiro and minocin aren't working. So it proves, that no one speciality is better at diagnosing nor treating PCOS-which makes us wonder which doctor to belive?
