Hi Renee,
Your case is quite typical. Regular endocrinologists (with their background
in internal medicine) are difficult at recognizing PCOS, which is more of a
gynecological disorder, or at least it used to be.
About breast cancer: there is no conclusive evidence between breast cancer
and the pill. If you have a family history of b.c., you should have your
breasts regularly checked by mammography.
What to do: find a reproductive endocrinologist, have your hormone values
checked and start the right medication.
