Hi Donna,

I'm Dona too but with one N (smile). I am on Actos which is in the same class of meds as Avandia. They are both glitazones and work the same way.I have actually have been pregnant twice while taking Actos and stopped taking it as soon as I knew. Unfortunately I misscarried both times the first was at 8 weeks and the second was at 20 1/2 weeks. The first misscarriage was a blighted ovum and the second was unexplained because all the ultrasounds and amnio were normal...except that maybe being IR caused poor blood flow through the placenta. So yes Glitazones do work and you can get pregnant on them without clomid, but once your pregnant you have a lot of worries about how having PCOS will affect your pregnancy. Good luck and fertile thoughts I know I am not about to give up yet! Dona
