you hear so offen of pcos sufferers with no period....most of the time i am just the opposite....since i was 12 i have had the prob of very heavy and irregular period that lasts from a half a day to at the moment at age 27..a 6 month period, where only now dr's are paying attention to me because my iron levels are half what they should be and blood transfussion is an ongoing option, as i take weekly visits to my gp for iron injections,,,,needless to say from age 12 i have been not only neglected but dismissed by the medical community, even as a private and public patient...up until xmas 2000 i was seeing the leading gynocologist in western sydney...a professor in his field who had me so irrate each visit, his understudies who i would see more offen than him, one told me after a procedure i had that they are looking for cancer, another said i had cysts that needed regular checks, but never have, others said i had no left ovary (i have right & left), and the professor preaching that if i lose my weight(most i have becuase of the meds that over the years fed to me by professionals and by my condition and none of which have ever worked)my period will regulate and life will return to normalcy..this alone is enough to make you just want to give up...even after being told at size 10 i had this exact same problem and at now size 26 :( is no different. Attributed to my condition i now suffer from anxiety attacks with fear of going too far from home incase i sponateously bleed excessively in public (of which has happened 3 times), hypertension, painful period, depression,excessive hairloss on the top of my scalp and now diabetes as well as 6 years of unemployment and at one stage trying to start my own buisness from home after telling the govt dr's that they can stick there "you cant possibly have what your specialist says you have" theory where the sun doesnt shine....i have managed to lose almost 30kg(80lbs) on my own, and as far as the proffessionals are concerned that is still not good enough...i am currently taking 3 Primolut a day without success, and 2 weekly iron injections as well as meds for my other conditions...i have begged the dr's to give me the Marine procedure where a piece of copper is inserted into your uterous and acts as a hysterectomy, thus when my partner and i want to have children (something we want desperately), the copper is removed and i am then placed on fertility programs, etc.....why the hell wont these Doctors and Professors treat me not only with the physical aspect of PCOS but the Mental anxiety also? I am in sydney australia, moving to east-texas usa, would appreciate hearing from anyone with help, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
