Spironolactone is a weak antiandrogen (much weaker than the cyproterone acetate in Diane) so why were they prescribed together. But if your hair loss is as severe as you describe it, you may take cyproterone in higher doses (Androcur) and it will definitely help. Anyhow hair loss takes 6-12 months to reverse and even longer for new hair to grow. Saw Palmetto and vitamins are fine but don't expect results from them. >Hope this helps > >Sam (Ob/Gyn,RE) > Well, Sam...the reason why I am not on "Androcur," is because I live in the States. I already get the "Diane-35" on-line. I did take the "Androcur" with it...for a while...like 5 months...and saw no change...so I stopped it. I need to be on something that my insurance will cover. They cover Spironolactone. I am going to go to an Endocrinologist...and hopefully they will put me on "Proscar 5mg of finasteride" or Casodex...which is the heaviest "anti-androgen" available...either here in the states..or out of the states...it is new...and they prescribe it for men with Prostate Cancer. Thank you for replying to me...I do appreciate it... I am using the "Thymuskin....and I am going to start taking "Fo-Ti" in the liquid form. Something should help. Sincerely.....Annette
