HI, I am on Actos with is very simular to Avandia it is also metabolized through the liver. My doctor is doing blood tests every other month to check for liver enzymes. So far I havent had a problem but I am aware that it is a possibuility because these drugs are in the same family as rezulin which was takin off the market because of liver toxicity. Well the other choice is Met which can cause kidney failure in rare cases or lactid acidosis which is life threatening. So I guess there are risks with any of these insulin sensitizing drugs. thanks for the warning. Sometimes it hard to believe anything can happpen till it happens to someone you know or to yourself..youve just made me more aware. Dona >I am writing this to relay my own personal experience.
